Planning
Transporting bespoke architectural millwork from our workshops in Italy to project sites in the United States requires careful coordination and precise planning. At 3to5, international millwork logistics is managed as an integral part of the production process. From the moment each component leaves the workshop to its arrival on site, every stage of transport is organized to protect the materials and maintain the construction schedule.
Our team oversees the entire logistics process, including international freight, customs procedures, and local delivery within the United States. By coordinating these stages directly, we maintain clear oversight of the supply chain and ensure that the transition from fabrication to installation remains controlled and predictable.

Architectural millwork often includes delicate finishes and complex assemblies that require careful handling during transport. Each shipment is prepared to safeguard materials and ensure that components arrive in the same condition in which they left the workshop.
Custom Crating
Every element is secured within custom-built, ISPM-15 certified crates prepared in our Italian Lab.
Climate-Controlled Transport
When necessary, shipments are transported in controlled environments to limit humidity and temperature fluctuations that could affect natural materials.
Specialized Handling
Our logistics partners are experienced in freight shipping for furniture, ensuring that large or sensitive components are handled with the appropriate equipment and procedures.
Upon arrival in the United States, shipments are transferred directly to the project site, where our installation teams coordinate unloading and preparation for assembly.
Logistics planning also plays a key role in helping optimize cost of delivery. By coordinating shipments with the broader project management timeline, we reduce unnecessary storage time and streamline site deliveries.
Our logistics team manages the documentation and compliance required for international transport, including:
Customs Brokerage
Preparation and management of import documentation, duties, and regulatory filings.
Regulatory Compliance
Verification that shipments comply with US security and agricultural regulations.
Port and Inland Transport Coordination
Organization of the transfer from port facilities to our hubs in New York and Miami before final delivery to the project site.
Through this process, the transition from fabrication in Italy to installation in the United States remains efficient and carefully coordinated.
